A Digital Voice Recorder

Digital voice recorders are much better than old tape recorders. About a week ago I finally bought one, for $50. It was Sony ICD PX-312. Frustrated by learning from the little booklet (which came with the device) I decided to write my own very short introduction. It has has just been posted at:

Comments and suggestions will be appreciated.

Increasingly all small electronics are being consolidated into mobile phones.
You can find recording applications in smart phones. You can store many gigabytes, so you'll likely never run out of space for audio only.

Smart phones take the place of low end cheap cameras and camcorders. They can be used as GPS's, but they need a data connection and some would prefer the convenience and user interface of separate navigation systems. They are a device to use the internet, prepare documents, read books. The question is what functions won't be part of mobile phones or slightly larger tablets?

Just one more aspect of Smartphones. They have voice recognition built in. I'm not sure if there is an easy way to do this, but you might be able to get a somewhat usable transcript if you did your voice recordings that way.

It would be interesting to see your analysis of how to use an Android phone or IPhone or Android tablet or IPad.
