So, the ASBs decide to put Joseph Stalin in charge of the NATO and American forces in Afghanistan and he's charged with winning the war for NATO and defeating the Taliban. Let's assume he can do whatever he wants with the NATO and American troops, as long as it's to achieve the aforementioned objectives, and can order them around as he wishes along with demolishing entire cities if he wishes the NATO forces to. Everyone of course doesn't care or notice he's now in charge because of the ASBs.

So how would the infamous Joseph Stalin go about handling the Taliban?

I've always found it somewhat amusing that people seem to scream invaders, dictators, and monsters at NATO and American forces, but what would it really be like if they really did have to deal with a real monster.

Deportations, deportations and more mass deportations! At gunpoint, of course, a Soviet Trademark(tm)! And if need be, pulling out the Mass Massacring Handbook.

I just don't think it'll work that well.

We are talking about a guy who had little problem massacring millions of HIS OWN citizens. Afghanistan would become a death trap for anyone and anything caught there.

In fact, I would probably expect to see poison gas used to smoke out the caves, fuel air explosives against population centers, and concentration camps. Whoever still lives would be deported to somewhere in deep, deep Siberia.

Stalin given an ability to perform genocide with modern-era means is pretty scary. And if he could get away with it, I see no reason for him not to.
