What if the USA and CSA of Bring the Jubilee was ISOTed to OTL 1952?

Doubt if anybody's much interested.
Read the story again, not sure that there is really much info about the CSA to guess what it can do - other than "it's rich"

The US of BTJ, OTOH, is kind of ...well, strange. Devolved, not much better off than a Balkan Republic - I have to guess that, somehow, the Western States must have broken away and become another country. I cannot imagine, even with the reparations, that the US would have THAT much trouble....but an isolated Northeast, the equivalent of a "pariah state" - that I could understand.

So, a bit more info is needed to make any kind of a guess.
