From: Most Catholic European Empire We have no knowledge of what has just occurred. We have lost contact with our allies, embassies, and do not have any memory of our current neighboring countries. We are compelled to issue the following warning: The Empire has deployed several copies of what we call the Szilard Device. These devices are a series of 500MT Fusion explosives encased in pure Cobalt 60. Total Cobalt 60 for each device is 750 metric tons. Each device is sufficient to destroy all life on Earth. These devices will automatically detonate if a preset radiation level is detected by sensors scattered across the Empire. The devices will also detonate on a “Dead Man” status if certain actions are not taken by certain personnel within a certain time frame. The Szilard devices can also be triggered as part of our strategic response to any attack. These devices are located in certain locations within our sovereign territory. You do not know where the devices are. There is no single person in the Empire who knows the location of all the devices and can compromise their security. If any of our territory is overrun, there is a chance that a control site for one of the devices is located there. That would begin a series of events that would be unfortunate for all life. As we have no history with any of the other countries in this strange world, you may believe this to be a bluff. There is no way to convince any nation otherwise. Be aware, however, that our souls are prepared. Are yours? |
