Warhammer is owned by Games Workshop.
It is an age of progress. Man's faith in himself has never been greater, never been grander. It is an age of war. The dread powers of Chaos menace the world, while the horrors of eternal war shadow its dark corners. It is an age of empire. Mighty empires dominate the world, and ceaselessly duel for dominance. You must choose, between the good of man and his boundless capacity for evil, between his nobility and his inner savagery. WHICH PATH WILL YOU TAKE? chaosworld.png The world (incomplete). What is Warhammer Gaslight? Warhamer Gaslight is a fan-made Warhammer setting developed by myself, taking place in a fantasy version of our world, while retaining key Warhammer elements such as Chaos, magic, different races, etc. The key theme of Warhammer Gaslight is 'duality'. Man is trapped between two paths - the path of self-understanding, progress and enlightenment, or the path of savagery and succumbing to his own darker nature (represented by Chaos). The aesthetic is steam- and dieselpunk - this is not a world of high technology or primitivity, but a world caught between the two, a world of Industrial Revolution, of coal and steam and diesel and oil. I'm open to suggestions; anybody can contribute articles, and anybody can write stories set in this world. I will check to see if they 'fit in' to the idea of Warhammer Gaslight. Have fun. |

I propose a world-division of Britain, France, Russia, and Germany as the major world powers with colonial empires. Most minor European states should exist also.
Chaos is the power ruling Asia, with its throne in China, its hold extending out through Mongolia and Siberia to the North, Sinkiang in the West, and SEA in the South. Russia in particular is beset by its Mongol outriders -- for this reason the Russian Empire is quite a lot smaller than IOTL. Japan alone has escaped among the Asian powers. The major political games are also in Asia. Basically the Great Game, but with three players -- Britain in India, Russia, and Chaos. America has no free human population. It is ruled by the Dark Elves of Naggaroth, a ruthlessly capitalist/slavocratic/libertarian society which are Britain's major competitors for the rule over the High Seas. Ah, nice. Sorry, I didn't see your map the first time for some reason. Probably browser playing tricks on me.

Hm ... Looks like Sweden conquered Russia at last ...
![]() And France and Germany joined together to conquer Europe. Are the gray areas neutral/unaffiliated territories? |

For the record, Kaja Foglio is supposed to have coined the term "Gaslamp" for this some years ago.
Also Chaos is HQ'd in China? That seems the opposite of what you'd expect.

Most of China's history in the latter half of the 19th/early half 20th century was chaos, more or less. It's no less appropriate than putting it somewhere else.
Also in the game, Chaos shares its borders with Russia but not Germany or France. So it has to be somewhere in Asia. |
